The damp spring weather has golfers anxiously awaiting the sun. If you've ever considered joining their numbers, this next week might be the perfect time to get started. ---
May is PGA Free Lesson Month, a collaborative endeavor of the PGA, Golf Digest and Golf Channel intended to give rookie duffers a chance to get off their duffs and take their first swings. Golf pros around the country are offering 10-minute free lessons at multiple locations, an opportunity both for newcomers and for experienced golfers looking to correct a specific aspect of their game (here are "10 Things You Could Correct in 10 Minutes"). In addition, many of the participating locations are offering free family golf clinics to allow family members to learn how to play together.
To find a location near you, visit the Play Golf America Website and search in your ZIP code; note that private clubs offer free lessons to members only. Then just watch the weather and hope for a dry day to get out on the course.
