TV Tonight: Modern Family, CMSB, American Idol | Buzz Blog
We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you.

TV Tonight: Modern Family, CMSB, American Idol

The new True TV Podcast is here! Featuring special guest Cinnamon Brown, local weatherman of note: CW Podcasts, Soundcloud and (eventually) iTunes. ---

What’s new tonight:
The Middle, Modern Family, Cougar Town, Happy Endings (ABC) Season Finales: All funny, proven comedy performers on Wednesdays—so, naturally, ABC will move two of them to other nights next season. Good luck on Tuesdays, Cougar Town and Happy Endings; say hi to Better Off Ted when you get there … Oh, you can’t.

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior (CBS) Series Finale: Forrest Whitaker and Janeane Garofalo never had a chance—a bland spin-off of Criminal Minds isn’t quite the same sell as a bland spin-off of CSI or NCIS. The only CBS show duller than CMSB is Flashpoint, which gets a pass for being (ack!) Canadian.

American Idol (Fox) Season Finale: The only way I could give less of a fuck about this would be if Oprah were involved.

Also new tonight:
Law & Order: Los Angeles (NBC); The Ultimate Fighter
(Spike); Extreme Couponing, Spouse vs. House (TLC); The Real World, The Electric Barbarellas (MTV); South Park, Workaholics (Comedy Central); Conan (TBS)

Preview: Happy Endings goes out for the season face-down/ass-up …
