Salt Lake Astronomical Society: Star Parties
Have you ever wanted to see a star explode? Of course you have—that would be cool. I have no idea if that would be possible through a high powered telescope, but it's worth a shot. At a minimum, at these star parties, you can observe the moon, Saturn, stars, star clusters and constellations and, on Saturday, you can also see nebulae and galaxies. They have a free drawing for children 6-18 years old to win a telescope or astronomy books.
