Lounge Act Wednesday: Malleable Mayhem

From tin-roof-rattling black metal to malleable indie collectives, there are an array of tunes for hump day getabouts.---

Kilby Court’s vinyl siding and tin roof awnings might be in need of some repair after black-metal quartet Liturgy rocks this little garage tonight. The dark broodings are complemented by piercing guitar solos and lots of crunchy distortion. The show starts at 7 p.m.

The Fresh & Onlys bring their brand of power-pop to Urban Lounge tonight. Expect, of course, lots of reverb-soaked singing, floaty guitars and tambourine...can’t forget the tambourine. The show starts at 9 p.m. with Bad Weather California slated to open.

Seven out of eight band members for tonight’s Whisperlights show ain’t bad, especially considering they sometimes appear as a two-man operation. The experimental collective will play Bar Deluxe with a bevy of openers; tunes start at 9 p.m.
