A bevy of entertainment opportunities await the curious this fine Thursday.---

Thursday night means time for another Twilight Concert Series show, of course, and this week you have the hippie-dippie do-gooders of Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros headlining, joined by The Entrance Band. The show starts at 7 p.m. at Pioneer Park.

The State Room hosts a double-bill of rootsy, jammy fun courtesy of Cornmeal and Elephant Revival. Down the block at Bar Deluxe, the all-girl AC/DC tribute band Hell's Belles will deliver a whole lotta guitar mayhem.

The SLCC Community Writing Center is hosting a discussion on a subject that has been the topic of journalists across the country for the past few years--Why write? It starts at 6 p.m.

Speaking of writers, The King's English is hosting author Elaine Gordon, who will read from her new tome The Pygmalion Complex at 6:30 p.m. And author Will Kaufman (pictured) will talk about his bookWoody Guthrie, American Radical—at the Main Library Auditorium at 7 p.m. Read an interview with Kaufman here, then check out his lecture, which will also include Kaufman performing some of Woody's tunes.
