It’s a 10k in the mud for a good cause. What other excuse could you ask for a dirty good time?--- The National Multiple Sclerosis Society Utah-Southern Idaho chapter is looking for your support in coming out to the Mud Run 10k. For a $50 registration fee and a $100 fund raising minimum you can help fight a debilitating disease that affects 2.1 million people worldwide--and get really muddy in the process.

The mud run combines 30 boot camp style obstacles that will have you leaping, slogging and sliding through acres of mud. Among the challenges to look forward to are a 50-foot slip and slide, a 40-foot mud crawl and the dreaded over and under, where you’ll be alternating going under muddy water to go under logs or splashing over the top of them.

The good folks of the mud run recommend that when surfacing from the muddy water to “make like a breaching dolphin and blow out.”

For registration visit MudRunMSUtah.org, the event itself will be Saturday, Aug. 13 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Miller Motorsports Park, 2901 N. Sheep Lane, Tooele, 801-424-0113
