We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Sundance 2012 Passes & Packages

Hard to believe, Sundance regulars, but the time to register for purchasing passes and ticket packages is right around the corner. ---

Tomorrow (Tuesday, Sept. 20) marks the first day in the registration period for 2012 Sundance Film Festival passes and ticket packages. Beginning 9 a.m. local time, you'll be able to register for a time slot to be able to purchase one of the many pass or ticket-package options. All individuals who register will receive an e-mail notification on Oct. 14 informing them of their assigned purchase time slot, which will be between Oct. 25 - 28. For those who purchase ticket packages, you'll receive a second notification in December for the time slot to purchase your individual tickets.

If you don't manage to be the first one to register tomorrow morning, don't panic: Time slots are not assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, but randomly assigned. But the registration period does end 5 p.m. Oct. 12.
