Squatters brewmaster moving on

In what can only be seen as bad news for local beer lovers, Squatters brewmaster Jenny Talley is leaving for a new gig in the Northwest.---

After 20 years of award-winning brewing at Squatters, Talley is moving to Washington to become the Brewing Operations Manager for the Craft Brewers Alliance, a joint operation of three beer brands familiar to folks who love the suds: Widmer Brothers, Red Hook, and Kona Brewing Co.

Squatters sent out an announcement of Talley's departure Wednesday afternoon, thanking her for her service.

"You have crafted, brewed, and exposed us to exceptional and world-class beers," said the statement sent by Squatters' Amy Coady. "The many awards and medals adorning our restaurant walls will serve as a reminder of your spirit, legacy, and the indelible mark you leave behind."

I guess we can all consider Squatters' Oktoberfest parties this Friday and Saturday as a worthy opportunity to bid Talley farewell. The beer scene in Utah wouldn't be what it is now without the work she's done with the Squatters team.
