Meet Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker | Buzz Blog
We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Starting today, you can schedule a one-on-one meeting with the Mayor to talk about any municipal subject under the sun, from bike paths to the Broadway-style Utah Performing Arts Center.---

Starting today, Average Joe and Jane Salt Laker are encouraged to schedule time to meet with Mayor Becker for a 10-minute time slot on Wednesday, Jan. 25, between 4 and 6 p.m. Residents are asked not to try and appeal a decision from the planning commission or other city boards. The topics also should only relate to city-wide issues.

The slots will be scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. To schedule in person, drop by the city offices during business hours at 451 S. State Street. You can also schedule an appointment over the phone by calling 801-535-7704
