We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Glad You Asked: Bluegrass, City Creek and Punk Rock

Dear GYA, I can't believe the Broncos Tebowed me like that and signed Peyton Manning. Nobody Tebows Tim Tebow! Anyways, anything going on in SLC today that will take mind off getting Tebowed.?- Tim Tebow, Denver International Airport---

Tim, it's a cold world and no one is safe from being Tebowed, even Tebow. However, I think there are a few things going on today that will make you feel better. First off, I would go check out the City Creek Center: Sneak Peek Charity Gala at 6:30 p.m.. For $50 a ticket you can enjoy live entertainment, food and drinks and you can scope out stores before they open ... like the Disney Store. Hizah!

Or if $50 window shopping isn't your thing, go kick your shoes off and boogie down to Colorado bluegrass band Head For The Hills. The celebrated footstompers were voted best bluegrass band at the 2010 Westword Music showcase Awards. Tickets are going for $12 at the door. Show starts at 8 p.m.

For something a little more hardcore, head over to In The Venue for the Glamour Kills Tour. Throw on your checkerboard chukkas for this all-ages show featuring a slew of pop-punk bands including headliners The Wonder Years. Tickets are going for $12. Show starts at 7 p.m.

Other events today suitable for Tebow:

- Arthur Miller's The Crucible at The Grand Theatre

- C2U Karaoke at Cheers to You in Midvale

- Abstract painter Krista Harris' presentation of Inception at the J Go Gallery
