It’s true, I have an unabashed love for all things that shake. Give me that funky stuff! And this is one of the funkiest on my list of emerging artist to look out for this year---

I talked about New.Body.Electric on Radio West last week, and this is the sort of band that fits my definition of “emerging” to a tee. In case you missed it this week, I've highlighted L'anarchiste, Folk Hogan, Lady Murasaki and The Awful Truth so far -- more to come.

This four-piece has a big, hard-hitting sound that can totter the line between The Meters funk and roots-dub reggae. Yet, it’s so simple a caveman could get his groove on to it.

With only four songs recorded for the Let’s Hang it Like This EP -- be sure to listen to “Funky Shake” and “Dirty Girlz” -- I’m really curious what they can come up with over the summer. Either way, go check them out live, and I’m sure your hips won’t lie to ya.
