Glad you Asked: Bon Iver, Red Carpets and Baseball

Dear GYA, I'll be in town today, whispering soft melodies to whoever will hear them. I love Salt Lake City, everything from the green mountains to that big salty lake. You know what? I wrote a song you may enjoy, it's called "Ooo Ohh," where I say those two beautiful words over and over again for five minutes.--- So, anything happening while I'm here? - Justin Vernon of Bon Iver

Justin, I pinned you on Pinterest, like, two years ago. Anyway, in preparation for your show, I picked up a fresh pair of Tom's Shoes and I got a cooler full of coconut water. I know the show's sold out, but look for me in the back -- I'm the white guy wearing cargo shorts. Here's what's going down tonight:

- If you couldn't already tell, the Grammy award-winning band Bon Iver will be playing tonight at Red Butte Gardens. Back in 2009, the Wisconsin-based indie rockers played to a packed Gallivan Center crowd and it was one hell of a show. The Staves are also on the bill. Tonight's performance starts at 7 p.m.

Head up to Peery's Egyptian Theater for the red-carpet premiere of the web series Proper Mansion. Hollywood and Utah actors will be in attendance, signing autographs, posing for pictures and basically doing lots of actor stuff. Come party with the stars and see the highly anticipated show on the big screen. Tickets are $11 in advance, and $15 at the door. The show starts at 6 p.m.

The Salt Lake Bees will be taking on the Colorado Springs Sky Sox tonight at 6:35 p.m. But if you're gonna check out a Bee's game, you gotta do it right, so stop by any Good Neighbor Pharmacy and pick a coupon for buy-one, get-one-free tickets.

Here are a few other worthwhile events for today:

-Check out the exhibit When Space Becomes Place at Light Spot Modern Design today.

-It's local stand-up comedy at its finest with Comedy Roadkill at The Complex, starting at 8 p.m.

-Arts-and-crafts enthusiast Kayte Terry will be discussing fun-and-easy paper projects from her book Paper Made at The King's English Bookshop, beginning at 7 p.m.
