Dear GYA, I heard that people are saying Hebrew National Hot Dogs may not be Kosher? Damn it, this really bums me out because I've been jamming at least 50 beef tubes down my throat every day for the past 10 years. What are people going to say next -- Magic Markers don't have magic in 'em? Anything happening today that's a guarantee? - Takeru Kobayashi---
Takeru, it's important to know what's in your hot dogs. For example, I always make sure my dogs are at least 50 percent beef and no more than 5 percent raccoon. It's just how I like 'em. Here are a few things happening today that won't let you down:
Tonight at the Usana Amphitheater, Def Leppard and Poison will be sharing the stage. For one evening, two of America's greatest hair bands will be performing back-to-back in what will more than likely be an explosion of whiskey, Spandex and hairspray. Doors open at 7 p.m.
In Sandy, Flat Iron Mesa Park will be showing a free screening of the 2012 feature film The Muppets. Popcorn, snacks and other goodies will be available to purchase. However, don't forget to bring your own lawn chairs and snuggies. The film starts at 9 p.m. (or at dusk).
Tonight marks the 2nd anniversary of the Big Shiny Geek Show Pub Quiz. Join Bryan Young (editor of CW's Big Shiny Robot) and Shannon Barnson (host of Geek Show Podcast) for this weekly trivia challenge held at Lucky 13. This contest covers everything from sports, history, current events and of course, sci-fi. The quizin' starts at 8:30 p.m.
Other worthwhile events happening today:
- At 7 p.m., Real Salt Lake will be taking on The Los Angeles Galaxy.
- Crucial Fest will be going down at The Woodshed tonight at 8 p.m.
- The Park City Farmers Market will be happening today, starting at noon.
