Glad You Asked: Wilco, Dia Frampton and Shakespeare

Dear GYA, I had a fantastic weekend not being anywhere near Miami Heat fans. I did all kinds of exciting things -- I tarred my driveway, I hung out with my in-laws and then I topped it all off with an unnecessary root canal. It was such a relief to spend some quality time far, far away from Heat fans. Any suggests to keep the streak going? - Everywhere except Miami---

Everywhere except Miami, I hear ya. I spent the weekend drinking Crystal Light in my basement closet; it was great. Here are a few things happening today that should be free of Miami Heat fans:

The Grammy award-winning alternative band Wilco will be performing at Red Butte Garden tonight. The Chicago-based crew were huge in the '90s and are still known to put on one hell of a live show. Their most recent album, The Whole Love, has received a healthy chunk of critical praise; therefore, one can expect an evening doused with alternative nostalgia. The show starts at 7 p.m.

Utah darling Dia Frampton will be live at The Complex. The indie-roots singer has grown from a simple local artist to a full-blown star since she appeared on The Voice in 2011. Her debut album Red is full of upbeat, bubbly pop tunes and feel-good lyrics. The show starts at 7 p.m.

In Cedar City, check out the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Besides all of your favorite Shakespearean classics like Titus Andonicus and The Merry Wives of Windsor, you can also witness other great works like To Kill a Mockingbird and Les Miserables. Click the above link for more info.

More worthwhile events happening today:

- Lunch Brunch Concerts will be going down at the Gallivan Center, starting at noon.

- At 9:30 p.m., head to The Republican for Pub Quiz Night

- The Salt Lake Bees will be taking on the Reno Aces at 7:05 p.m.
