We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Glad You Asked: Ringo, Liars and Puss in Boots

Dear GYA, I'm really, really trying to get some work done today, but the new Batman movie is dominating 98 percent of my thoughts. It's starting to get out of control. It seems like everything that pops into my head is about Batman. Anyways, any good Batman places to Batman while I Batman on my Batman? - James Hillfried, Sugar House ---

James, it will all be over soon -- nine more days. In the meantime, here are some places you can Batman while you Batman:

Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band will be performing at Usana Amphitheater tonight. Known as the Beatle who likes playing drums, Ringo Starr has surrounded himself with a literal all-star band including Steve Lukather from Toto, Greg Rolie from Journey and Richard Page, the guy who wrote "Broken Wings." The show starts at 7 p.m.

Urban Lounge will be hosting the experimental indie-rocker band the Liars. The trio is known for dramatically shifting their sound with each album. Their latest release, WIXIW, is a departure from their usual dance-punk sound and relies on heavily layered electronic synths. The doors open at 9 p.m.

The 2011 Dreamworks film Puss in Boots will be shown for free at Wildfire Park tonight. It's a family-friendly tale of a swashbuckling cat burglar who will steal your heart. Which is OK, because people love cats. The film is voiced by Antonio Banderas, Selma Hayek and Zach Galifianakis. The show starts at 9 p.m.

Other worthwhile events happening today:

- The Big Shiny Geek Show Pub Quiz will be happening at Lucky 13 tonight at 8 p.m.

- Pop singer Emily Thornton will be performing at Kilby Court, starting at 7 p.m.

- The always-free Lunch Bunch Concerts will be going down in the Gallivan Center today at noon.
