Glad You Asked: Bombay Bicycle Club, Hops on The Hill and H25 | Buzz Blog
We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Dear GYA, Now that these "scientists" put their dumb little go-kart on Mars, do you think they'll have some time to research the things that actually matter? I don't know, maybe for once they could figure out a reasonable microwave setting for Hot Pockets, or more importantly, they should design some sort of disposable eating glove for snacking on Cheetos.--- Come on, am I right? In the meantime, anything happening tonight better than that dumb Mars landing? - J.R. Wolfenstein, Cottonwood Heights

J.R., tell me about it. I don't know why we're wasting our time on Mars when we have so many problems here on Earth, especially in the snacking sector. Here's what's happening tonight:

The indie-folk four-piece band Bombay Bicycle Club will be onstage at In The Venue/Club Sound. If you've never heard of these guys, well, they're kind of a big deal. Two years ago, the UK-based crew surpassed fellow indie stars Mumford & Sons and The xx to win the 2010 NME Best New Band Award. Their most recent release, A Different Kind of Fix, has been warmly received. Hey Rosetta will open up. The shows start at 8 p.m.

Every Tuesday evening, there's the Hops on The Hill & Concert Series at Deer Valley. Tonight's festivities will feature great food from Chef Zane's Patio Barbecue, brew samplings from Red Rock Brewery and smooth tunes on the lawn with Mister Sister. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. The party starts at 4 p.m.

In Ogden, check out the Worldwide on H25 celebration going down on the Historic 25th Street. The celebration aims to recognize and highlight cultures from Kenya to Columbia and will feature dance performance, a parade and local restaurants will try their hand at ethnic dishes. The street party starts at 5 p.m.

Other worthwhile events happening tonight:

- The Complex will be hosting Comedy Roadkill tonight at 8 p.m.

- Lumpy's on Highland will be doing its weekly karaoke this evening, beginning at 9 p.m.

- The Urban Lounge will be featuring indie bands Yak Tooth, YYBS and Baby Girl. Doors open at 9 p.m.
