Glad You Asked: King Tuff, Old School and KUER's Stuff

Dear GYA,  I noticed that Will.i.Am of the Black Eyed Peas debuted his new song "Reach For The Stars" from the Mars Curiosity Rover yesterday. Maybe it's my dyslexia, but when I first about read this I was psyched because I thought it said shitty music was leaving Earth, then I discovered that it's actually raining down on us from space. Well, is there any place on Earth safe from BEP? - Tim Chumbaul, Provo---

Tim, you're looking at it the wrong way. You have to understand that this is probably a cleverly designed preemptive strike on any would-be-intelligent life that may be on Mars. Those NASA guys are smart. Here are a few options that should be BEP free:

Garage rocker King Tuff will be onstage at Kilby Court this evening. Tuff is currently promoting his  2012 self-titled album, which charted at 21 on Billboard's Heatseekers album chart. Expect hard-hitting, good ole  rock & roll. Audacity will be opening things up. The show starts at 7 p.m.

Head over to Brewvies for a free screening of the 2003 comedy Old School. If you've never seen this film, basically, it's the classic tale of a man named Hank the Tank who loves the taste of beer when it first hits his lips. Check in with City Weekly's The Word for some free swag. The show starts at 8 p.m.

KUER public radio is having a curbside sale today at Eccles Broadcast Center.  What does this mean? This means this is your chance to score a bunch of CDs, DVDs, books and radios(?) for nearly 75 percent off. Who knows, maybe you'll even find some of Doug Fabrizio's personal effects. The sale starts at noon.

A few other worthwhile events going down today:

- The Big Shiny Geek Show Pub Quiz will be happening at Lucky 13 tonight at 8 p.m.

- The Gallivan Center will be hosting the always-free Lunch Bunch Concert Series today at noon.

- The Park City Farmers Market will be happening at Canyons Resort today at noon.
