We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

TV Tonight: Survivor, Royal Pains, Booze

What’s new on the electronic-monitoring device tonight:

Survivor: Philippines (CBS) Season Premiere: Survivor is back, with contestants like Lisa Whelchel (Facts of Life) and Jeff Kent (baseball, apparently), and a couple of returnees—can’t they find new people who want to play anymore? ---Still, Season 25(!) will fare waaay better in the ratings than Jeff Probst’s DOA talk show … you didn’t know he had a talk show? How about that.

Royal Pains (USA) Season Finale: That really, really, really ridiculously good-looking polo player that Divya’s been banging/falling hopelessly in love with all summer? Turns out other really, really, really ridiculously good-looking women have been sleeping with him, as well. Can you blame ‘em? Look at him! Meanwhile, Hank makes yet another life-changing decision—you know, like he does at the end of every season.

How Booze Built America (Discovery) Series Debut: This new docu-series explores, well, how booze built ‘Merica, and it’s hosted by that Dirty Jobs guy. What’s not to like? Besides that Dirty Jobs guy?
