Dear GYA, Since Clint Eastwood's speech at the Republican National Convention, chair sales have increased by 28% in American households. What does this mean? Adam, who knows if the increase in chair sales has anything to do with Mr. Eastwood? You have to remember that people use statistics to prove anything -- 42% of all people know that. Here's what's good this weekend:
Let's start with Friday:
- Electro-house DJs Filo & Peri will be onstage at Park City, live this evening at 9 p.m.
- The first Stir-Friday at Zest Kitchen & Bar will be going down at 9 p.m., with special guest DJ Sines from Houston.
- The Downstairs in Park City will be hosting Miss DJ Lux at 9 p.m.
- Psycho-surf rockers The Growlers will be at Urban Lounge. Doors open at 9 p.m.
- The Salt Lake Film Festival is still going strong all day today. Weekend passes are only $7.
- The Head and The Heart will be onstage at The Depot, starting at 7 p.m.
And Saturday's events:
- The Dirty Dash mud run will be going down at Soldier Hallow at 8 a.m. (sold out, but you can watch).
- The 21st and 21st Autumn Arts Festival at 2100 South and 2100 East, starting at 11 a.m.
- At 1 p.m., checkout the Celebrate The City 1960's party at The Leonardo.
- The Eagle Twins will be hosting a CD-release party at Urban Lounge at 9 p.m.
- Covey Center for The Arts will be the site of the Outdoor Folk Festival, starting at 4 p.m.
- Real Salt Lake will be taking on the Portland Timbers at 6 p.m.
- The Strut your Mutt dog festival will be going down at Liberty Park at 9 a.m.
As for Sunday's events:
- Indie artist Colleen Green will be at Kilby Court at 7 p.m.
- The Plug-in Electric Vehicle Music Fest is going on at the Gallivan Center all day, starting at noon.
- The Salt Lake Film Festival will be going on all day. Passes are only $7.
- The Wilde Stampede 5K Run for Wildlife starts at 7 a.m. at Hogle Zoo.
- The Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey production: Dragons starts at 11:30 a.m. at Energy Solutions Arena.
