Dear GYA, I'm pretty excited the NFL and the referees have finally reached a deal. I was gettin' real tired of those blind, idiotic, replacement refs. But now, when my team loses, I can feel good knowing that I'm yelling at the professional blind idiotic refs.--- Since Sunday is a ways off, anything good happening this weekend? - Anthony Dickaroni, Murray

Anthony, I'm glad you're finally able to scream your head off at the people who really deserve it. Here's what's good this weekend:

Let's start with Friday:

- Stand-up comedian Arj Barker (Dave from Flight of The Conchords) will be onstage at Wiseguys Trolley Square.  

- For some college-football action, head to Provo and check out the BYU Cougars as they take on the University of Hawaii Warriors.

- The Moab Pride Festival will be going on this weekend in the desert. 

- Japanese post-rock band MONO will be live at Urban Lounge. Doors open at 9 p.m.  

- Local band Secret Abilities will be hosting a CD Release Party at Kilby Court, starting at 7 p.m.  

- 'Tis the season for the Strangling Brothers Big Top Tent of Horrors, kicking off at 7:30 p.m. 

- The Terrace Plaza Playhouse will be showcasing The Drowsy Chaperone at 7:30 p.m.  

- The Leonardo's newest major installment Da Vinci: The Genius will be onstage all weekend long.


Saturday's Events:  

- The X96 Big Ass Show will be going down at the Gallivan Center, starting at 1 p.m. 

- Reggae artist Stephen Marley (son of Bob) will at In The Venue/Club Sound at 7:30 p.m. 

- The Northwest hip-hop crew The Chicharones will be at the Ogden Amphitheater at 6 p.m.  

- Storm Mountain will be the site of the Mountain Music Fest, starting at 6 p.m.  

- The Egyptian Theatre in Park City will be hosting Odyssey Dance Theatre's Thriller at 7:30 p.m.  

- The Off the Chain Fest & Rally will be going down at The Woodshed at 9 p.m.  


Sunday's events:  

- The Creepy Toy Show art exhibit is worth a look see, and it's still going strong at Gray Wall Gallery. 

- The King's English Bookshop is celebrating Banned Books Week by massively marking down all banned books today.

- Jerry Joseph & The Jack Mormons are playing at Bar Deluxe. Doors open at 9 p.m.

- Off Broadway Theater's presentation of Y-Light will be going down tonight.

- At Urban Lounge, the indie band Dude City will be onstage at 9 p.m.
