The anti-nuclear greenies of HEAL Utah will be hosting a community meeting Tuesday night exploring how Utah can kick its addiction to coal power, and the nonprofit advocacy group would like you to join the intervention.---
Every month, the advocates at HEAL Utah explore ways to build community solutions to Utah’s environmental problems from the grass roots up. This month, the discussion is all about coal, and asking if Utah is the most coal-addicted state in the country. The discussion will include snacks and beverages, as well as a look at the hidden costs of coal power in the state including the harmful effects of coal ash.
Most importantly, the meeting will discuss ways to rally, educate, and organize to kick the coal habit. Check it out at Artspace Commons, 824 S. 400 West Tuesday, Oct. 16, 6:30 p.m.
