Dear GYA, I'm really bummed NBC canceled Dane Cook's new show Next Caller before it even aired. I was looking forward to a sitcom centered around Cook yelling for no reason for a half hour. Anyway, the 2003 version of myself is extremely disappointed.--- Anything happening tonight to fill this void in my life? - Tyler Brometer, Midvale

Tyler, You don't have to look to Dane Cook for pointless yelling. Have you ever seen anything with Gilbert Gottfried? Here are a few things going down tonight that will cheer you up:

English indie-pop band The xx will be at The Complex.  Known for their breakout self-titled album in 2009, The xx's newest effort, Coexist, is proving to be just as solid. Josh Talabot and 2:54 are also on the bill. The doors open at 8 p.m.

As part of the weekly Horror Cinema Tuesday's series, Weber County Main Library will be showing a free screening of the 1961 cult-classic film The Curse of The Werewolf.  It's the age-old story of a mans' love affair with his wolf costume. The show starts at 6:30 p.m.

Maggie McGee's will be hosting the 3rd Annual Treehouse of Horror: All Simpsons Trivia Contest. OK, finish this sentence: No beer and no TV makes Homer something something. If you said, "Go crazy" then you should sign up for this quiz because they're giving away a cash purse of $200-$500 (depending on how many sign up). The quizzin' starts at 8 p.m.

A few other worthwhile events:

- True TV and Brewvies are offering up a free screening of the latest Sons of Anarchy episode tonight at 8 p.m.

- For some serious rock action, checkout Witch Mountain at Bar Deluxe, starting at 9 p.m.

- Meet some real witches at the Crone Hollow: October is Time For Witches lecture tonight at 6:30 p.m.
