Dear GYA, When I heard that Ron Artest -- sorry, Meta World Peace -- is starring in a new Nancy Grace Lifetime Original, I was beyond excited.  I mean, finally, a Lifetime movie for dudes! You know there's gonna be some elbows, hip checks and googly eyed crazy talk.--- Anything happening this weekend better than Meta World Peace's acting career? James Bowstring, Cottonwood Heights

James, If you saw Dancing With the Stars, you would know that nothing is better than MWP's acting. But here are a few things happening this weekend that are almost as good:

Let's start with Friday:

- At 9 p.m, check out the Brewvies 2nd Annual Halloween Film Fest featuring a double feature of Shawn of the Dead and Zombieland. (21+)

- Rapper Waka Flocka Flame will be onstage at The Complex at 8 p.m.  

- The Hanger of Chaos opens its doors at Layton Hills Mall at 6 p.m.  

- At the Depot, indie band Kaki King will be performing at 9 p.m.

- The Sugar Space Fall Harvest Festival kicks off at 2 p.m.

- The Lodge At Stillwater, in Heber, is celebrating all weekend long with its annual Halloween Weekend.  

- The Utah Grizzlies will be taking on the Colorado Eagles at the Maverik Center at 7:05 p.m.  


And Saturday's events:  

- The Complex will be hosting Brotha Lynch Hung's Halloween Party featuring Bay Area rapper Andre Nickatina at 8 p. m.

- The Weber County Main Library will be showing a free screening of A Nightmare Before Christmas at 2 p.m.  

- For some college-football action, the Utes are back at home, taking on the California Golden Bears.  

- At 10 p.m, checkout the Copper Palate Press Halloween Show featuring Autobahn and The Wild Ones.  

- Wasted Space will be a throwing a Halloween party featuring renowned producer and turntabilist DJ Abilities at 9 p.m.  

- The final Downtown Farmers Market of the season will be going down at Pioneer Park at 8 a.m.

- At 6 p.m., the Union Pacific Depot will be the site of the Salt Lake Design Week Closing Party featuring Pixies of Fury.  

- The Utah Grizzlies will be facing off with the Idaho Steelheads at 7:05 p.m.  

- Real Salt Lake will be taking on the Vancouver Whitecaps at Rio Tinto Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.  

- For all things roller derby, checkout the JCRDolls as they battle it out with FoCo at the Davis Conference Center. The bout starts at 6 p.m.  


And finally, Sunday's events: 

- At Wasatch Roller Derby, check out the Bonneville Bone Crushers as they take on the FoCo Girls Gone Derby at noon. 

-  Big Shiny Robot, True TV and Brewvies will be showing a free screening of the latest Walking Dead episode, starting at 10 p.m. (21+)

- Check out the Salt Lake Acting Company's presentation of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Click the link for more details.   

- The Grand America will be hosting the annual Witches High Tea festival, starting at 4 p.m.
