We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Sundance Individual Ticket Sales Start Tuesday

While the nation is fixated on the election, don't forget that Tuesday is also the first day for locals to register for individual Sundance Film Festival screening tickets. ---

While the time to order full festival passes has come and gone, Nov. 6 marks the first day Utah residents can go online to register for a time slot Jan. 5 - 6 to purchase individual festival-screening tickets. Slots will be randomly assigned -- not first-come, first-served -- so everyone doesn't need to race to be first to visit Registration will continue through 5 p.m., Dec. 17. Those who register will receive their assigned time on Dec. 20

This marks the first year in which the process will take place entirely online, so those early mornings at the Trolley Square or Park City box office can become a faint memory. You can, however, pick up the free locals-only tickets to the post-Sundance "Best of Fest" screenings at the box offices beginning Jan. 12.
