Dear GYA, I'd like to announce my triumphant return to stand-up comedy. You see, after a three-day retirement that included a police chase while riding on an ATV, slapping a Target employee and threatening some guy with a pool cue, I feel completely reinvigorated and ready to get back to work. Anything happening this weekend to celebrate? - Katt Williams ---

Katt, Good lord. I wish I had tickets to your next show. Congratulations on your return to comedy. Here are some ways to celebrate this weekend, starting with Friday:

- Pioneer Theatre Company's presentation of A Christmas Carol will be going on tonight at Pioneer Memorial Theatre. Click the link for details.  

- City Weekly's 2012 band of the year Max Pain & The Groovies will be onstage at Brewskies. Doors open at 9 p.m.

- Urban Lounge will help you get your dub-step fix tonight with Dubwise. Show starts at 9 p.m.

- The bluegrass band Punch Brothers will be at The Depot, beginning at 9 p.m.  

- The SLC Yoga Rave Dance will be happening at the Krishna Temple, beginning at 8 p.m.  

- Stand-up comedian Tom Green will be at Wiseguys West Valley; click for more info. 


Saturday's events:  

- The 25 Days of Joy festival will be going on at Station Park all day today.  

- Rapper Macklemore will be at The Depot. Ryan Lewis, DEE-1, Xperienceto will open this up. The show starts at 8 p.m. 

- Legendary punk band NOFX will be onstage at The Complex, beginning at 8 p.m.  

- The Rocky Mountain Muggles are hosting their annual Yule Ball tonight at Sugar Space. The party starts at 6 p.m.  

- The The Devil Whale will be at Urban Lounge tonight. Doors open at 9 p.m.


Sunday's events:  

- The downtown Main Library will be hosting the Craft Sabbath: Holiday Boutique, starting at 1 p.m.

- Macy's National Santa Bus Tour will be at the Valley Fair Mall, beginning at 2 p.m.   

- The Park City Library is the site of The Gingerbread Jimmi House Competition, going on all day.

- Wovenhand will be onstage at Urban Lounge tonight. Doors open at 9 p.m.
