The folks at Oregon's A to Z Wineworks describe their juice as "aristocratic wines at democratic prices." And that's certainly true. Most of their wines sell here for $11 to $19 per bottle. --- But, don't let those economical prices fool you; A to Z makes serious wine. In fact, A to Z has garnered Food & Wine magazine's award for "Best American Pinot Noir Under $20."
On Thursday, Dec. 13, beginning at 6:30 p.m., Brighton's Silver Fork Lodge and Young's Market Utah will host an A to Z wine tasting dinner, priced at a mere $50 with wine pairings ($25 without).
The tentative five-course dinner and wine pairing menu is as follows:
Amuse Bouche: Prosciutto-wrapped melon with Pinot Gris
Appetizer: Golden goat cheese tart with Chardonnay
Salad: Wilted spinach with warm bacon vinaigrette topped with grilled salmon, paired with Pinot Noir
Entree: Pan-seared boneless duck breast with blackberry reduction and Rex Hill Pinot Noir
Dessert: Double-chocolate raspberry pie with Sangiovese Rose
Rich Vehrs of A to Z Wineworks and Mike Szczesny of Young's Market will be in attendance to discuss the wines and answer questions.
Silver Fork Lodge is also offering overnight accommodations, including breakfast for two, from $90 per night plus tax.
