Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

February saw three new physicians disciplined by the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing who were added to City Weekly’s database of misbehaving doctors.---

In February, three doctors were disciplined by Utah regulators including Richard Settles, who surrendered his license after failing to disclose an investigation matter against this license by the Arizona Board of Osteopathic Examination. Doctor Donald Leroy Yakel also faced discipline for actions outside of this state, having his Utah license placed on probation for discipline he received in Illinois in 2012.

Salt Lake City doctor William Joseph Walsh voluntarily surrendered his license in February for engaging in “unprofessional” conduct, though his discipline notice with Utah’s DOPL did not specify what the conduct was.
