Dear GYA: There's an old saying that goes, "The show must go on," which is exactly what Fox13's news broadcast didn't do after a few "technical" problems last night. This should be a sobering reminder that you should always have a back-up plan. Would it be so bad if we had to watch Ben Winslow playing a keyboard on demo mode?--- Or how about some vertical iPhone footage of Allison Croghan surfing the Internet? Hell, just show the infamous Dan Pope gif for a half hour. It's all good. Anything happening today that won't have any technical problems? - Carl Reffer, Murray

Carl, You are absolutely right, my friend. It would have been sweet to see Hope Woodside freestyle rapping about today's news, but I suppose one can only dream. Here's what's up for today:

Prog-pop meets metal with A Midnight Drive tonight at Bar Deluxe. Riva Rebel and Anthems are also on the bill. The show starts at 8. Tickets are $5.

'80s funk DJ, musician and producer Dam-Funk will be at Urban Lounge this evening. Stones Throw founder Peanut Butter Wolf, The Stepkids, Myron & E, The Doobie Sisters are also on the bill. The show starts at 8. Tickets are $15.

Blues, rock and funk band Stonefed will be onstage at Deer Valley Outdoor Amphitheater tonight. The show starts at 6. Admission is free!
