We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Glad You Asked: Breezeway, Gregory Alan Isakov and Sugar House

Dear GYA, According to a recent article, the average single man changes his sheets roughly four times a year. Obviously, women are disgusted to hear this, but instead of chastising men for being lazy, perhaps we should reinvent the bed. Think about it: Would it be so hard to create a bed that has pull-n-tear sheets like a doctor's office?--- I'm looking at you, scientists at Serta. Anything happening toda, that's less painful than changing your sheets every three months? - Phil Manbro, Sugar House

Phil, Why invent a new bed when you can just sleep on a pile of dirty clothes every night. That's what I do; it's easier than owning and maintaining a bed. Here's what's up for today:

Local bands Breezway, Cyber Cowboy, The Flying Coffee Beans and Murphy Jackson will be at Kilby Court this evening. The show starts at 8. Tickets are $6.

If you're in or around Sugar House, head to Sugar House Summer Nights at the new Sugarmont Plaza on Highland Drive. There'll be food trucks, bands and, best of all, it's free! The party starts at 6 p.m.

South African singer-songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov will be performing at The State Room this evening. Tickets are $8. The show starts at 8.
