If your only excuse for not getting into the spirit of the new theater season is lack of funds, you're about to run out of excuses. ---

The "National Free Night of Theater" returns to Utah in 2013, with 12 local theater groups -- including Plan-B Theatre Company, Utah Shakespeare Festival, The Off-Broadway Theatre, Grand Theatre and Park City's Egyptian Theatre -- offering opportunities to win free tickets to performances taking place in October. Originally launched by Theater Communications Group as a three-city pilot program in 2005 to encourage attendance, the concept has expanded throughout the country.

Locally, is coordinating the opportunity to win pairs of free tickets. Visit the website to create a profile, then enter your preferred choices no later than this Sunday (Sept. 22). Winners will be notified by e-mail on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
