We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you.

Dear GYA, In two weeks, McDonald's will get rid of the dollar menu and replace it with a newer, pricier system called the Dollar Menu & More. Do you have any idea what this means? If McDonald's doesn't reverse this decision, world economists predict that America's most dedicated fast-food conumers might actually spend their money on real food! Anything happening today after I do my part and grocery shop on the dollar menu? - Marco Raphiolo, fast food scientist

Marco, By "real food," you mean Panda Express, right? Here are a few things happening today after you're done saving the dollar menu:

Producer, singer and songwriter John Vanderslice will be at Urban Lounge this evening. Hope and Tim are also on the bill. Doors open at 8. Tickets are $13.

Indie-pop band Sleigh Bells will be at The Complex. Doldrums are also performing. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25.
