We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Dear GYA, This year, I'm going to stick to my New Year's resolutions, for once. I promise to eat healthier, work out daily and, most importantly, I promise to crush my enemies, see them driven before me and hear the lamentations of their women. After all, that is what's best in life.--- Anything happening today that will allow me stick to my New Year's resolutions? -Conan The Barbarian, Midvale

Conan, Let me tell ya, driving your enemies before you for the first month is easy; it's sticking to it for the whole year that is tough. Here's what's up for today:

The Jazz will be taking on the Milwaukee Bucks tonight at EngerySoultions arena. Tip-off is at 7. Tickets start at $10.

Local pop-rock band The Circulars will be at Urban Lounge this evening. Strong Words and Jawwzz will open things up. The show starts at 8. Tickets are $5.

Stand-up comedian Owen Benjamin will be onstage at Wiseguys West Valley tonight. The show starts at 7:30. Tickets are $12.
