We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

New Tunes Tuesday: Mogwai, Crushed Stars, Warpaint

Happy Tuesday, music fans. A lot of awesome new music comes out this week, and here are some of my favorites. Most of it is of the dreamier variety, but there's some new Against Me! (stream Transgender Dysphoria Blues in full here)—which is the band's first new release since lead singer Laura Jane Grace (formerly known as Tom Gabel) came out as a woman—and Damien Jurado mixed in for good measure. --- Stream the latest from Scottish post-rock band Mogwai here, Los Angeles indie-rock band Warpaint's new self-titled here, and Dallas indie-pop/rock band Crushed Stars' full new album here.
