We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Glad You Asked: Equality Rally, Andy Garcia & Swollen Members

Dear GYA, Scientists have recently discovered a new species of river dolphin living in the Amazon and without a doubt it's a terrifying beast. But look, everyone needs to take a deep breath. I'm sure in no time we'll send a group of scientists down there and observe these animals in their natural we did in that movie Congo or Anaconda, or King Kong. Anything happening today more interesting than river dolphins? - Janice Yorshing, Park City---

Janice, hopefully this team of scientists includes Ice Cube or at the very least Tim Curry. Here's what's up for today:

The Rally For Equality will be going down today at the Utah State Capitol. Come out and show support for marriage equality beginning at 5 p.m.

Tower Theatre will be showing a sneak peek of the film At Middleton today at 7 p.m. followed by a Q and A with the actor Andy Garcia and director Adam Rogers. Tickets are $18.

Vancouver-based rap crew Swollen Members will be in stage at Urban Lounge this evening. Slaine and Supreme Villain are also the bill. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20.
