Dear GYA, It hasn't been easy, but I've spent the entire week prepping my man cave for the Super Bowl. I picked up every flavor of Doritos, I replaced the carpet with artificial turf, and even my wife is dressing up and talking like Richard Sherman until Monday morning. That last one was in our pre-nup. Go Seahawks! Anything happening this weekend besides the Super Bowl?- Frankie Werbler, West Valley City---

Frankie, nice job! As we all know, a well-written, detailed pre-nup is the key to a happy and successful marriage. Here's what's up with this weekend: 

Electro-pop big-hair enthusiasts Blood On The Dance Floor will be at the Murray Theater this evening. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $16.50.

The All-Star Monster Truck Tour will be at the Maverik Center tonight. The mayhem starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $10. 

Stand-up comedian TJ Miller will be on the mic at Wiseguys West Valley. There's a show at 7:30 p.m. and another at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $20. 

Local DJ and producer Mr. Vandal will be performing at Urban Lounge.  Gravytron, Grimblee and Tetris Fingers are also on the bill. The doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5. 

Alternative rock band Toad The Wet Sprocket will be on stage at The Depot. Jonathan Kingham will warm things up. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30. 

Burt's Tiki Lounge is hosting the Winter Witches Ball this evening. Passive Tourist, Baby & Femme Yeldah and Vengeance Tampon will be performing. The show starts at 8 p.m. There's a $5 cover. 

The Utah Jazz will be taking on the Golden State Warriors tonight at EnergySolutions Arena. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $10. 

Over at The Royal, local rap groups Better Taste Bureau, New Truth and Bassmint Pros will be performing. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $5.  

Club Jam is hosting the Ladies of Marmalade drag show tonight at 11:30 p.m. There's no cover.  


Saturday's listings:  

Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company's Flabbergast will be going down at the Capitol Theatre today at 2 p.m. Tickets are $35.

The Winter's Farmers Market will be happening at the Rio Grande Depot starting at 10 a.m.  

Rapper Kountry Caine will be at In The Venue tonight at 6 p.m. Next 2 Blow and Kilifi will warm it up. Tickets are $10. 

Electro-pop band Pure Bathing Culture will be at Kilby Court tonight. Bright Whistles and The Wild War will open up. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8. 

The Pentagram Crackers will be performing at Urban Lounge. The Future Of The Ghost and The Circulars are also on the bill. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5. Stick around afterward for a DJ set from Matty Mo beginning at 11 p.m. 


Sunday's events:  

Not much going on today, on account of the Super Bowl. But here's a few options:

Burt's Tiki Lounge is hosting bands Eclectic Tuba, Chrome Distortion and Farewell Nick Wan. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8. 

Dilated Peoples members Rakaa Iriscience and DJ Babu will be at the Downstairs tonight at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10.   

Every Sunday is Funk & Soul Night at Bourbon House with DJ Street Jesus. The music starts at 9 p.m. There's no cover.
