We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Glad You Asked: Matty Mo, Lorin Walker & Mogwai

Dear GYA, You're probably wondering, "Hey Miguel, why did you bite Alex Guerrero's ear off?" This is a fair question and well, there's an unspoken rule in baseball where if a player doesn't cover his bases, the catcher (in this case, me), get's to eat said player's ear. In fact, I'm finishing it right now. Anything happening today better than eating a dude's ear? - Miguel Olivio, Albuquerque Isotopes---

Miguel, this is why I love baseball. I just can't get enough of the classic traditions like the seventh inning stretch, peanuts and Cracker Jack and the age-old eating of another man's ear. Here's what's happening today:

Tonight is Willy Wednesday at Willie's Lounge with 2014 City Weekly CWMA DJ of The Year Matty Mo and special guest DJ Battleship. The music starts at 9:30 p.m. There's no cover.

Local country singer Lorin Walker Madsen will be at Urban Lounge tonight. The Digital Wild and Green River Blues are also on the bill. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8.

Electro DJ and producer Mogwai will be at The Depot this evening. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $19.
