Dear GYA, I would like to remind everyone that tonight's full moon, the Honey Moon is a natural phenomenon that occurs when you combine the summer solstice with the moon's close orbit to Earth and, of course, the angry wrath of Goorghol, The Unquenchable. May his thirst for pale virgins someday be quenched. Anything happening this weekend better than the Honey Moon? - Phillip Frokle, Space Scientist/Oracle---

Phillip, Goorghol does make the best looking moons. Here's what's happening this weekend, starting with Friday's events:

Tonight is Stir-Friday at Zest Kitchen & Bar. Musical guests include DJ's Devareaux and Zack from Indie Disco. The party starts at 9 p.m. There's no cover before 10:30 p.m., $5 after. 

Local classic country band Hollering Pines will be at The Garage tonight. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5. 

Utah metal band Disforia will be at Urban Lounge. Dead Revelator and Founders of Ruin are also on the bill. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5. 

Salt Lake gypsy jam band Juana Ghani will be at Bar Deluxe for their album release party. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8. 

Comedian and SNL alum Rob Schneider will be on the mic at Wiseguys West Valley. There's two shows, one at 7:30 p.m. and another at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $25. 

Def Jam rapper Logic will be at The Complex this evening. Quest and Castro are also performing. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $17.  

Alt-country singer Jessica Lea Mayfield will be at Kilby Court. Israel Nash will warm it up. The show start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12. 

Saturday's events: 

Over at This Is The Place, the Mountain Man Camp will be going down, starting at 9 a.m. Check the link for more details. 

The Utah Scottish Festival and Highland Games will be happening at Thanksgiving Point at 8 a.m. Tickets start at $10. 

Punk band The Menzingers will be at Kilby Court tonight. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. 

One Republic will be at USANA this evening. The Script and American Authors are also performing. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $25.

Legendary rap crew Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will be at The Great Saltair. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $30. 

Comedian and Breaking Bad actor Bill Burr will be at Wiseguys West Valley tonight. There's a show at 7:30 p.m. and another at 10 p.m. Tickets are $25.  

Local bands The Devil Whale, Giraffula and Koala Temple will be at Urban Lounge.  The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5. 

The Battle of The Bands finals be going down at Velour tonight. There's a $7 cover. The music starts at 8 p.m. 

The Ogden Arts Festival will be happening all day today on Historic 25th Street.  

Sunday's events:  

Songerwriter/composer Jimmy Webb will be at Egyptian Theatre tonight in Park City. The show starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $29. 

It's Funk and Soul Night at Bourbon House with DJ Street Jesus. The music starts at 9 p.m. There's no cover.  

The Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz will be happening at Piper Down tonight.  The quizzin' starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free!
