Dear GYA, I want to go to the Elton John show tonight at the Maverik Center but I have a terrible fear that instead of classics like "Tiny Dancer," "Rocket Man," and even to a lesser extent, "I'm Still Standing," we might be subjugated to Lion King tracks like "Circle of Life," "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" and for the love god, possibly "I Just Can't Wait To Be King." Kylie, as they say in The Lion King, "Hakuna Matata." In case you didn't know, "it means no worries." So, I wouldn't worry about it. It's Sir Elton John, the man could pound his head against the piano for 40 minutes and it would still be worth it. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $26.

Nashville-based rock duo JEFF The Brotherhood will be at The State Room tonight. Music Band is also performing. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $17. 

A Benefit for CrucialFest is happening at Bar Deluxe with music from Worst Friends, Die Off and Red Bennies. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5.

Saturday's events:

The Rock 'N Ribs festival will be going down at The Gallivan Center today at noon. Admission is free! 

Rapper Brother Ali will be at Urban Lounge tonight at 8 p.m. Bambu and DJ Last Word will warm it up. Tickets are $18.

 
Muse Music Cafe will be hosting bands Newborn Slaves, Tribe of I, Atheist, Donnie Bonelli and DJ SkratchMo at 8 p.m.

DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold will be performing at Park City Live. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25.

Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October and Ashleigh Stone will be at The State Room. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $30.  

Sunday's events: 

Metal band Motionless in White will be at In The Venue.  The show starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $18. 

It's Funk and Soul night at Bourbon House with DJ Street Jesus. The music starts at 9 p.m. Admission is free. 

The Classical Greek Theatre Festival will be happening at Red Butte Garden all day starting at 9 a.m. Admission is $15.
