A classic documentary, an animated adventure and an inventive horror tale are among the new releases in Utah theaters this weekend.

Danny Bowes grooves to the combination of retro-'80s horror sensibility and innovative chills in the supernatural-curse-as-sexually-transmitted-disease thriller It Follows (pictured), and examines the masterful construction and deeply troubling material in the Maysles brothers' landmark documentary Grey Gardens.

Eric D. Snider finds the entertaining pairing of Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart in Get Hard getting lost in too many jokes where the only punch line is, "Hey, did you know that in prison, there is RAPE?"

Scott Renshaw snores over the predictable friends-and-family platitudes and missed opportunities for satire in the animated alien-invasion comedy Home, and gets frustrated by the confusing shifting allegiances and enigmatic protagonist in the Belfast-set action drama '71. In this week's feature review, Kumiko the Treasure Hunter delivers a lovely, heartbreaking portrait of a young Japanese woman on a quest for the buried treasure from the movie Fargo.

Also opening this week, without review: the period Western vengeance drama The Salvation.
