Concerts by veteran music acts mix with comedy and theater for the
2015 summer season at Sandy Amphitheater.
In addition to the already-announced "Weird Al" Yankovic show (pictured) on Aug. 24, the season for the outdoor venue includes more than 20 scheduled dates, beginning with Eagles tribute band Hotel California (May 30). Additional concerts include local favorites Ryan Shupe & the RubberBand (June 5); classic rock icons The Doobie Brothers (June 10); country stalwarts Diamond Rio (June 18); singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot (June 24); pop diva Taylor Dayne (July 10); Arrival: The Music of ABBA (July 11); crooner Chris Isaak (Aug. 26); double-headliners Colbie Caillat & Christina Perri (Aug. 28); LeAnn Rimes (Sept. 11); and a "Rock of the '70s" showcase featuring The Guess Who, Firefall, Orleans and Al Stewart.
Comedy and theater offerings include veteran stand-up comedian Sinbad (June 20);
Shrek! The Musical (Aug. 7-15); Laughing Stock improv (Aug. 19); and the one-man battle-of-the-sexes comedy play
Defending the Caveman (Sept. 8).
Other special events include performances by the American West Symphony & Chorus (June 17); the International Folk Festival (July 8); America's Music & Dance (July 17); One Voice Children's Choir (July 18); and silent movie classics (Sept. 9).
Tickets for "Weird Al" Yankovic are on sale now; other tickets go on sale May 1.
