We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you. DONATE

Mr. Robot (USA)
  • Mr. Robot (USA)

What’s new on the tube tonight:

Mr. Robot (USA) Series Debut: Vigilante hacker by night/corporate IT drone by day Elliot (Rami Malek) is recruited by the mysterious “Mr. Robot” (Christian Slater), the leader of an “underground hacker group,” to e-destroy the company Elliot works for. For USA, this is some deep and dark shit—how did it end up here instead of FX? And, if you misread the title and were momentarily excited about a series based on the 1983 Styx hit “Mr. Roboto,” apologies.

Rogue (DirecTV/Audience) Season Premiere: Deep-cover cop Grace Travis (Thandie Newton) really only went “rogue” in Season 1 of this not-as-gritty-as-it-thinks-it-is drama; now, she’s still working the same case from Season 2 (we’re now in Season 3, if you’re at all curious). Maybe a better title would be True-ish Detective?
