We need your help.

Newspapers and media companies nationwide are closing or suffering mass layoffs since the coronavirus impacted all of us starting in March. City Weekly's entire existence is directly tied to people getting together in groups--in clubs, restaurants, and at concerts and events--which are the industries most affected by new coronavirus regulations.

Our industry is not healthy. Yet, City Weekly has continued publishing thanks to the generosity of readers like you. Utah needs independent journalism more than ever, and we're asking for your continued support of our editorial voice. We are fighting for you and all the people and businesses hardest hit by this pandemic.

You can help by making a one-time or recurring donation on PressBackers.com, which directs you to our Galena Fund 501(c)(3) non-profit, a resource dedicated to help fund local journalism. It is never too late. It is never too little. Thank you.

According to owner/chef Jen Gilroy, she'll be hosting two winemakers from Spain for wine dinners in August at her Meditrina and Porch restaurants.

"Xabier Abando and Sebastian Bro, both Spanish winemakers, will be our guides for an intimate evening with their beautiful wines," said Gilroy.

The first winemakers dinner will take place at Meditrina in Salt Lake City on Monday, August 3rd from 7 to 9 PM. The second dinner will be held at Porch in Daybreak, on Tuesday, August 4th from 7 to 9. Each restaurant will feature its own unique wine pairing menu created specifically for the evening.

The cost for each of the four-course dinners is $40 for food and $30 for wine. Vegetarian menu items are available if notified upon booking. Reservations for both dinners are limited.

For the Meditrina wine dinner, phone 801-485-2055 for reservations.

For Porch, call 801-679-1066.

Salut!
