The first of two shows tonight will take place at Diabolical
Records, when the band
Making Fuck releases their latest album,
A Harrowing End. I won't need to say much on this as
City Weekly's own Brian Staker
wrote the band up in last week's issue, but the album itself is an amazing feat in metal, and well worth a listen. You can do so yourself as the band releasing the record tonight, playing with Worst Friends and Die Off. The double LP will run you $20, but the show is free and will start at 8 p.m.
Meanwhile, over at the Loading Dock, we'll see the latest from
Charlatan. This is a five-piece metal band out of West Jordan currently featuring Grey Sorenson, Austin Heath, Tyler Craig and Andrew Woodward. Since 2011, they've been rolling out singles and other albums while changing out members and reinventing their sound along the way. Their new EP,
Nothing to Gain, will be released tonight as the band play with The CMDWN, Dethrone the Sovereign, and Tiger Fang. Tickets are $10 and the doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Finally, going all the way until next Thursday on March 17, we'll hear the latest from
Arloe. This is the solo electronica project from musician Parker Edwards, where he combines house, dance and pop into an awesome electro-beat mix that'll get you dancing. He'll be releasing his debut EP,
Strike Gold, at a special showcase at Velour. Tickets are $10 and the doors open at 8 p.m.
Love music, head out, buy local!
