John Saltas, Utah native and journalism/mass communication graduate from the University of Utah, founded City Weekly as a small newsletter in 1984. He served as the newspaper's first editor and publisher and now, as founder and executive editor, he contributes a column under the banner of Private Eye, (the original name of City Weekly). He's a member of the Pay Dirt Club from his alma mater, Bingham High School, the recipient of the Quintus C. Wilson award from the University of Utah, has been recognized twice for his contributions to downtown Salt Lake City, and remains most proud of the people who have been part of City Weekly along the way and for just lasting it out.
Careful who you follow on Twitter, Joe.
