2014 Rumi Festival

When: Sat., Sept. 20, 2-4 p.m. 2014

A gathering of poetry, art, music, and contemplation at the 2014 Rumi Festival. The 13th-century Persian poet and spiritual master Jalaluddin Rumi is an inspiring voice for a life and culture based on love, peace, cooperation, good heart, and open mind. The festival features recitations of Rumi's poems, a lecture by Rasoul Shams on “The Seven Valleys of the Soul’s Journey,” performance of Persian reed-flute (ney) by Amir Mohammadi, and glass sculpture by Andrew Kosorok on the “99 Names of God.”
