50/50 - SUMMIT

50/50
Two best buds’ (Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen) lives are changed forever when one of them (not Rogen) is diagnosed with cancer—and he’s a journalist, so he’s doubly screwed. Yes, it’s a comedy, and, yes, there’s weed. (Summit)

Real Steel
An ex-boxer-turned-smalltime-promoter (Hugh Jackman) teams up with his adorable towheaded son to build a fighting robot for a chance at the championship. Oh, and it’s his one last shot, against all the odds, underdog, etc. (DreamWorks)

Buck Rogers: Season 1
When 20th-century astronaut Buck Rogers (Gil Gerard) awakens 500 years after a space accident, post-nuclear wackiness, wisecracking robots, leftover Battlestar Galactica props and impossibly tight neon uniforms ensue. (Universal)

Porn Star Zombies
A mutant STD turns the cast and crew of a low-budget porno film into rotting, flesh-eating zombies. Not a sequel to the more complex, character-driven Zombie Strippers or the AVN-winning musical Dawn of the Dicks. (MVD)

The Whistleblower
An American cop working as a peacekeeper in Bosnia (Rachel Weisz) uncovers an international conspiracy of corruption, cover-ups and sex trafficking. Based on a true story, making it even more of a bummer than 50/50. (Fox)
