The seventh annual festival, hosted by Salt Lake American Muslim, presents a grand celebration of diversity. A day of family delight, the festival offers a buffet of ethnic treats, an eclectic display of merchandise from Ten Thousand Villages and organized activities for the kids.

Entertainment shimmies onstage at 3 p.m. with myriad world-class performers, including the magic of a Mariachi band, colorful Peruvian dancers and intense Taiko Japanese drummers. This year’s event also features a social-service theme, with several informational booths offering education on government services for low-income families such as health care, housing and legal aid.

Concluding the event is a screening of the French animated fairytale Azur and Asmar. This award-winning film follows two childhood boy buddies who are separated by culture and class but who reunite as adults on a quest for heroic honor. The festival provides a free, fun opportunity to experience a multifarious display of world cultures.
