Ever get a blank stare or encounter a silent pause when you rave about Utah-produced artisan foods to friends and family who don’t live here and therefore don’t shop our farmers markets or have access to our specialty food shops? Well, there’s a cure for that.

Manhattan-to-Park City transplants Ken Kullack and Kylie Anderson are on a mission to spread Utah’s culinary pride nationwide through their new online business, A Local Table. Food lovers with a penchant for farmstead cheeses, cured meats, jams and such from all over the country, they were thrilled to find some of the country’s best edible options in their own backyard.

Once they discovered firsthand the awesomeness of Creminelli salami, Slide Ridge Honey, Yee-Haw pickles, Gold Creek Farms cheeses, LuAnn’s Cupcakes and Butcher’s Bunches preserves—to name just a handful of favorites—the couple wanted to “find a way to indulge our appetites and create a business that makes it possible for anyone to experience Utah’s best,” Kullack says.

“We’re after foods that are made with natural ingredients, in ways that are as true to the original artisan methods as possible—even better if the ingredients are sourced nearby and grown or produced with sustainability in mind,” Kullack says. “Organic certification is nice, but not always possible for small producers.”

A Local Table started out delivering specialty foods to Park City customers, including resort and property- management companies that stock their visitors’ pantries with local goodies. Starting on Dec. 1, A Local Table will offer nationwide shipping to everyone—so when you’re making your holiday gift list, you can let your fingers do the walking and let them do the shipping. Order individual products, or better yet, a sampler. Then sit back and listen to the thanks and raves.
