When most people think upon the Summer of Love, they reminisce about the joys of 1969 with peace stickers and flower power and hippies twirling about the place. Garrison Keillor, on the other hand, has embarked on a 25-city run to bring his own A Prairie Home Companion-styled Summer of Love Tour to America’s adoring masses.
Although the shows on this tour will not actually be broadcast on public-radio stations, Keillor will still be waxing nostalgic. This time, it will be on the themes and memes of love via audience sing-alongs of classics such as "Unchained Melody" and "Can’t Help Falling In Love With You," stories about love and marriage and sonnets by the likes of Shakespeare himself. Keillor will also be joined by many of his regular radio cohorts like Guy Noir, Dusty and Lefty and the beloved News From Lake Wobegon, as well as special guest Nickel Creek’s Sarah Watkins.
