Bar Deluxe: Bids to
Make It Big
Sometimes local DJs need assistance breaking big through music videos, and the duo of Muscle Hawk is no exception. The community is stepping up to help them out, and you can help them get some funds together for their “Electric Light” music video, too. They need to raise $3,600 to reach their $5,000 goal, and Sunday, Aug. 28, is the date to come see The Samuel Smith Band, Lady Murasaki and Gravy Tron join Muscle Hawk in performances at Bar Deluxe (666 S. State) to raise funds. The Muscle Hawk guys, Greg and Josh, will also be auctioned off to play the winning bidder’s party of choice. And dates with local music-biz notables like Sam Smith, Cale from Dirty Blonde and others will also be up for bid. The party starts at 9 p.m.
Bogey’s On Some Tail: T3mptation Fridays
On Clearfield club Bogey’s (22 E. 200 South) new T3mptation Fridays, DJ Stario from Bumsquad lights up the dance floor with Top 40, mash-ups and music videos, and outside, Chris Harvey’s Entourage Karaoke is set up for all you singing fiends. There’s an early cover at 9 p.m. for guys, but ladies get in free until 10 p.m.
Lucky 13: Rolling the Dice
It’s a different crowd every time Club Matters makes it to the quasi-biker bar/neighborhood joint known as Lucky 13 (135 W. 1300 South). The patio is nice and refreshing, so plenty of cute people from surrounding areas converge on its floors. The venue also hosts The Big Shiny Geekshow Pubquiz every Wednesday, which differs from other pub quizzes in that it is more awesome. It’s also full of plenty of trivia for only the most esteemed of local geekery.
Hot shots from Lucky 13:
1. Angie Petersen
2. Karl Shimensky, Jamee Hutton
3. Elysha Thompson, Bull
